Terms of Service

The agreement between you and CivicSign Limited for use of our electronic signature platform.

Last updated 24 May 2026Governed by English law

CivicSign provides an electronic signature platform that lets you upload documents, send them for signature, and store completed agreements. The service is offered on a subscription basis with a free trial period.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under the laws of England and Wales. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account.

New users may try CivicSign free of charge for 14 days. We may modify or end trial terms at any time. After the trial ends, continued use of paid features requires a valid subscription.

  • Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory or harmful.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent our security or access another user’s data.
  • Do not use the service to send unsolicited communications.

Electronic signatures produced via CivicSign are intended to comply with the UK Electronic Communications Act 2000 and the retained EU Regulation 910/2014 (“UK eIDAS”). They are legally admissible in the courts of England and Wales.

CivicSign and all related software, designs and trade marks remain our exclusive property. You retain ownership of the documents you upload. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to process those documents solely to deliver the service.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms or use the service in a way that creates risk for CivicSign or other users. You may close your account at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms, except that we may bring proceedings in any jurisdiction where we believe infringement of our intellectual property is occurring.
